Casino Webcam Review CasinoWebcam.com

I played at Casino Webcam on November 22, 2005. This page will serve as a review of CasinoWebcam.com, and an ongoing journal of my experiences playing there. I'm not entirely sure of why I chose Casino Webcam as my first casino to review, but I'm glad that I did. I've never played at an online casino with live dealers before, so I was excited to try it out. And since the dealers are invariably pretty girls, and I like pretty girls, I thought it would turn out to be a good time.

November 28, 2005 Casino Webcam Update

So I spent some more time playing at Casino Webcam last night. I stuck with the $5 blackjack tables. The dealers were quite lovely, as usual, and I tried flirting with them. One of the other players mentioned to me that he wasn't sure if they could actually see the chat, and I had wondered if the whole "live dealer" thing wasn't bogus or fraudulent. (It wouldn't be hard to do. Look at the beer.com Virtual Bartender for example.)

So I asked (in the chat box) the dealer to blow me a kiss, and she did! Immediately too. Very cool.

I lost about $50 playing blackjack, but nothing seemed unusual about the game or the way the hands played out. Pretty typical stuff.

Getting Started

There was no download involved in playing at Casino Webcam. It's a flash casino, and the webcam images are all handled through the flash interface. Setting up my account wasn't too hard, although I got a little confused by the instructions for getting started, but I figured things out pretty quickly.

Turns out that the instructions on the site for getting started tell you to click on a button on your right with instructions like "Start Playing" when the button is actually on the left and says "Play Now" or something like that. Not a big deal, but it was confusing to me briefly, and I'm a bit of a nut for usability stuff with websites, even casino websites like Casino Webcam.

Making a Deposit

CasinoWebcam.com offers the option of playing free games for fun, but I didn't take advantage of it. I immediately made a deposit of $150 using funds in my NETeller account. (I use NETeller for all my online gambling type transactions.) I was given the option to accept or to turn down the 100% deposit bonus, and I was advised before accepting the bonus that I couldn't cash out until I'd wagered $9000.

That's a wagering requirement of 30 times the bonus + deposit, which is excessive in my opinion. But I wanted to be able to write about my bonus experience with Casino Webcam too, so I did accept the bonus.

Casino Games Available at Casino Webcam

The only games available at Casino Webcam are sic bo, baccarat, blackjack, and roulette. There were no slot machines at all.

Sic bo and roulette both have tremendous house advantages, but baccarat and blackjack have pretty fair odds for a player. I don't understand baccarat very well, so I stuck with the blackjack. I did spend some time at the roulette tables too. They were single roulette wheels, so it wasn't as big a sin as if I'd been playing an American wheel.

The games were fun, although the $5 blackjack table was often full. The only complaint I had about the games was how slowly they seemed to go. Every roulette spin took about 2 minutes, so the maximum number of spins per hour you could get playing roulette is 30 per hour. I didn't time the blackjack, but it seemed to move a little more quickly.

At one point during the blackjack game, almost every single hand at all 7 players' spots were full of low cards, like 4's, 5's and 6's. I'm not a card counter, but I know that a deck rich in 10's is when you should raise your bet, so I raised my flat $5 bet to $15, and sure enough, I hit a 20 on the deal. Sadly for me, the dealer made 21.

Casino Webcam's Live Dealers

The dealers are indeed beautiful. The software was neat, although sometimes the webcam got blurry while I was playing. I tried to get a summary of my play from the reports screen, but I wasn't able to retrieve any information. I guess those numbers only get updated once a day. Tomorrow I'll play some more, post about my results, and see if I can get some numbers to share. Right now I'm up about $2.50, and I've played for maybe an hour or two. I think I've got several hours of play in front of me before unlocking the entire bonus though, which is kind of disappointing.

Other Sites

This online casino reviews website is one of the only ones I have seen with real casino reviews from actual online casino players. The site looks at payouts, customer services, games and software speed. The main casinos are Playtech and Microgaming, but there are also other online casinos listed here. The Playtech casinos are particularly interesting because of their new live dealer casino games like baccarat and blackjack.

More online casino reviews are available from  Flatlands, which is a great new site which offers gaming news and free casino gambling games to play. If you want to do some more research about online casino games and other games, like board games and miniatures, then Flatlands has all these available. It's a site about games more than a site about gambling.
