Upcoming Tournament Offerings at Titan Online Poker Room
I've decided to write up Titan Poker because they recently issued
a press release announcing a new promotion giving away three seats
to the World Poker Showdown in the Bahamas, January 10-17, 2008.
Three super satellite tournaments are scheduled to award three seats
to the WPS Bahamas and a $7,000 prize package for spending money,
travel and accommodations for two at the Cable Beach Resort in the
Bahamas.
Ten daily qualifiers have already begun, with the first buy-in
starting at $1 + $0.10 - awarding one seat to the next round to
every 1 out of 11 players. A $2 buy-in will award one seat to the
next round for every $22 generated. The tenth and final qualifier
has a buy-in of $192.50 + $19 and awards one seat to the final
satellite tournament for every $770 generated. The final satellite
tournaments are scheduled for October 21, November 18, and December
9 - all of which have a buy-in of $700 + $70. Not bad if you ask me.
Titan recently wrapped up a series of satellites sending three of
their players to the World Poker Showdown in Costa Rica later this
month. They will also be filling two more seats to their 20-seat $1
million freeroll called Tournament Titan. In order to win a seat, a
player must acquire the most points in ring games and tournaments
over two designated time spans. The first time span - September 9
through October 31 is almost over and so is pointless to compete in
- but the second one, which is scheduled from November 1 through
December 5, is fair game.
Keep in mind that in order to compete for the last seat, players
must be Titan Poker members with VIP Player status of 3,4,5 or 6. If
you are serious about competing in the tournament and only have a
VIP status of 2, it is still possible to get started playing and
work toward obtaining a VIP upgrade by November 1. Just know that
your monthly point average will need to be 6,000. If you are not a
member of Titan Poker, you will have to wait until next time for new
players are not given VIP status upgrades until after having played
a full calendar month. Or you can hold out until the end of November
and compete in Titan's first ever European Championship of Online
Poker (There truly are lots of big tournaments taking place at
Titan).
Of all the online poker rooms to get themselves on the map with
the big dogs like Poker Stars and Party Poker, I personally think
that Titan Poker has done a phenomenal job. So much so, in fact, I
think Titan Poker is worthy of being called a "Big Dog" as well.
Much of this is owed to Playtech Software, whose iPoker Network has
taken Europe by storm over the last year, and is now one of the
largest online poker networks in Europe. Titan Poker is the largest
room of the bunch and has the tournaments and guaranteed jackpots to
show for it. Isn't that so titanic of them? Oh, how witty I am.
