Online Backgammon Site Makes Transition into Real Money Platform

The play-money online backgammon site, BackgammonMasters.com, is now a real-money online betting site. I never really gave myself an opportunity to play backgammon before, and I have to say that I'm probably still not going to. No offense to Backgammon, but I've never been attracted to skill games. I don't know if it's just a mental block, but I can't get it out of my mind that I'm playing some type of board game at home. I hear they offer skill, but what kind of skill I ask.

Anyways, this isn't about me. I know there might actually be somebody reading this blog who is a fan of backgammon or is interested in learning how to play. It certainly has a substantial following, especially in UK, and I can't deny that it offers a viable way to earn some money and have fun. That being said, back to BackgammonMasters. I don't know much about them, but I do know they must be getting lots of traffic. They are ranked #1 on Google for "online backgammon", which I know gets a considerable amount of traffic. They offer secure payment solutions and are powered by Lucky Skill, who is operated out of the UK.

However, the thing that irks me is there is nothing on their website describing licensing. I don't care if they're not offering online casino gambling. The fact of the matter is that they operate gaming software and payout winnings.  Their software is audited by iTech Labs, which is good. I also realize that players compete against other in Backgammon, and so the opportunities for cheating are minimized. And I'm not concerned that players are not going to get paid out. However, have you heard about what is happening at Absolute Poker right now? Truth be told, insider players and software bots are not unrealistic. Gamble at your own risk, whether its at online casino games or backgammon.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining or being negative. I've just seen too many players get ripped off at online gaming sites before, and am not about to be like some other webmasters and write up positively glowing reviews of every press release and online casino promotion that comes across my desk. There are enough online casinos out there who are operating by excellent standards of transparency that those sites who aren't either need to get with the flow or get left behind.
