2007Mansion Chooses Different Poker Platform Than Existing
Online Casino
Mansion online casino has always been a name that is familiar to me. However,
for some reason or another, I've yet to play there. I think this is because some
time ago there were some disputes with affiliates or players or something, and
some people were weary of playing there or doing business with them. That was
a long time ago, however, and besides, Mansion is now licensed by Gibraltar,
which has to stand for something. Gibraltar has some of the strictest
regulations around, as is considered to fall within the European Economic Area
(that means online casinos licensed there can advertise in the UK).
Mansion popped up in my brain because they have recently entered the online
poker world. Upon hearing this, I gave their site a visit and have to say that
things are looking pretty good over there. Mansion's games are powered by
Playtech, which equates to top-tier online casino gambling. Like everybody else,
at first I was surprised to find out that Mansion decided to join the Ongame
poker network, rather than Playtech's budding iPoker network, of which Titan
Poker has been leading the pack of late.
However, when you take a closer look at Ongame, you'ill see why they've
become a top choice for some of the leading online poker rooms out there,
including PokerRoom.com, Betsson, Hollywood Poker, Coral, Gala and Bwin.
Apparently, iPoker is claiming they are the largest network in Europe, or
rather, amongst European players. I need to do a little investigating, but am
not sure just how accurate this statement is. Ongame went online in 1999, and
now has over 12 million registered players. That's pretty big if you ask me.
The fact of the matter is that Mansion consciously chose Ongame over Playtech
because they believe that Ongame simply has more expertise in the world of poker
than Playtech, while Playtech has more expertise in the world of online casino
gambling. Sounds like a win-win situation! From an operators point of view
(not that I am one), Ongame provides a solid package, including custom branding,
payment solutions and top-notch customer support. I think this was a good
choice, not only for Mansion, but for the gaming industry as a whole. The day in
which software monopoly's begin to dominate any one sector of the online
gambling market is a sad one. Thriving competition is key to raising the bar of
service and the overall gaming experience.
