Ever since Mansion signed up with Ongame, there's been plenty more than
online casino gambling going down at the mansion. How's that for a cheesy intro?
I thought I'd write some more about Mansion because even though I haven't played
there, they've been busy of late (in the news and what not) and the general
sentiment from players who do call it home is just that - they call it
home. Enough said, right?
Mansion started off as an online casino. They are powered by Playtech, which
means they don't accept U.S. players - but it also means they have one of the
best software platforms on the market. The eventually started an online poker
room (or was it the poker room that came first? Not sure, it doesn't matter),
but did not fare so well in the poker world.
Recently, Mansion came out and said they would migrate to a new poker
software, which most people assumed would be Playtech's iPoker Network. However,
they ended up going with Ongame, which is equally good if not better. Now that
the migration is complete, Mansion has been busy trumping up their new room -
the latest of which was a press release. Here is the general gist of it:
Their tournament schedule is more robust than ever and there is more live
action than before. They report over 30,000 players logged online during peak
times (evenings and weekends), and there are a host of large guaranteed weekly
tournaments. Some of these have already included a $150,000 guaranteed jackpot
this last Sunday, which players could battle getting into through several daily
satellites for only $5. In addition to the guaranteed $150K tournament, Mansion
hosts a $110K and $50K weekly tournament, as well as more frequent
$5,000/$10,000/$20,000 real money online poker tournaments.
