2007Chipleader Awarded Online Poker Affiliate Program of the Year
Being a poker affiliate myself, it's always good to know who the best affiliate
programs out there are. Online gambling has come a long way since its relatively
humble beginnings (I say relatively "humble" because there has been lots of
money backing this industry since day one), however, we all know (at least we
all should know) there are still lots of crooks out there waiting for the
slightest opportunity to pull a fast one and shaft an affiliate when they are
not looking. That being said, I once again reiterate how nice it is to know who
the best affiliate programs are.
Getting the honors from eGaming Review, aka, EGR Magazine, which is a well
respected online publication for the poker and online casino gambling industry
at large, was Chipleader. Although I am personally not an affiliate of them, I
am familiar with the two online poker rooms Chipleader represents - Ultimate Bet
and Absolute Poker. Well reputed and successful poker rooms in their own right,
it makes sense to me that Chipleader affiliates are doing well and happy with
their program.
The variables for determining the winner were not necessarily about who was the
most successful, however. EGR's main factor for determining the best affiliate
program was based on whoever uses the widest range of marketing techniques to
increase player traffic at participating poker rooms. This range of techniques
included search engine optimization, mail campaigns, advertising, viral
marketing and rake back programs.
I went to do a search on various derivatives of "online poker room affiliate
program" on Google and Yahoo and could not find Chipleader anywhere, nor did I
see Ultimate Bet or Absolute Poker, so I'm not sure what that was about (or
perhaps the top affiliates ranking for these terms were promoting Ultimate Bet
and Absolute). If that was the case, then the award should have been for "Best
Affiliate". Update...I just researched went over the top search terms again and
I found several affiliates promoting Ultimate Bet and Chipleader, including a
great portal site I like called Unknown Poker.
I went to Chipleader's website to see what all the hoopla was about, and I did
see a pretty good offering. Affiliates start off earning 25% in a two tiered
referral program awarding 5% in the first tier and 1.5% in the second referral
tier. Bonuses start off at $100 per month for rakes over $1,000 in a single
month and climb all the way up to $10,000 for rakes over $50,000 in a single
month. And considering that Chip Leader is awarding 15 hours of private jet
service to the affiliate who has the greatest percentage increase in earnings
through November, I'd have to say that Chip Leader sounds like a sound affiliate
program.
