I knew there was a reason why I don't gamble at Bodog's online casino (or any
of their betting properties for that matter). It's run by a three-year-old. Yep,
that's right, Calvin Ayre is at it again, and I seriously think the man is off
his rocker. Either fueled by anger or prescription pills, or both, Ayre has left
some bizzare postings on his Bodog Blog. Part of me doesn't even want to write
about it, because I know the majority of you will now go visit Bodog and read
Ayre's blog out of sheer fascination for the strange and morbid.
So maybe it's not morbid...well, I guess it could be. Anyways, as the dispute
between Ayre and 1st Technology LLC continues on, Ayre has challenged 1st
Technology owner, Dr. Scott Lewis to a three-round fight in the boxing ring
according to Bodog fight rules. He said something along the lines of giving
Lewis a face pounding. He then went on to say that even if Lewis wins the fight,
Ayre would come out on top. I don't know exactly what that's supposed to mean,
especially considering that 1st Technology has already been granted a $49
million judgment and possession of the Bodog domain name. Or perhaps Ayre has
something sexual in mind. I wouldn't be surprised.
If I was Lewis, I wouldn't even think twice about doing it. And I personally
don't think he has, nor will he. Honestly, I think this is just a publicity
stunt by Ayre to rile up his player base of young testosterone-filled boys. And
anyone who has seen Ayre in his video blog knows he's not Bodog fighting
material. The guy was scared to ride on a sailboat for God's sake. Granted, it
was a racing sail boat, but he was a nervous, flask-downing wreck.
I do have to admit, it would be fund to watch (so long as nobody got hurt).
What can I say...I don't support violence. Ayre seems to be very serious about
doing it and has already created a $1 million trust fund, which Lewis would get
if he won the fight. Ayre proposes that if he himself wins, he gets the Bodog
domain name back from Lewis. Goes to show how bad Bodog was hit after having
their domain names taken. It can't be that bad though because Bodog is still
Bodog, although I have to say I have no idea what their new domain is (At one
point I know it was NewBodog.com.
If anything, Ayre has the greatest challenge of all. 1st Technology recently
stated that Ayre will be required to make a U.S. appearance in a court of law or
will be issued a warrant for his arrest. Ouch. It's ironic because I wouldn't be
surprised if some State like Louisiana or the U.S. Department of Justice issues
an arrest warrant for Ayre just as soon as he steps foot in the U.S. anyways.
The outcome of all this shall be very interesting indeed.
