World Poker Congress Meeting
The 4th Annual World Poker Congress meeting will be held this June 24th and 25th
in Porto Portugal. This conference will be one that the online casino and online
poker industry will both be in attendance for. Situated on the Douro River, this
meeting will be located at the Sheraton Porto Hotel and Spa which is centrally
located in Porto. The locale is close to museums, nightlife and plenty of
shopping. Sounds like a vacation instead of a conference, but there will be
plenty of business to be discussed about online casinos and poker rooms despite
its beautiful and relaxing location. The website that is dedicated to this
particular meeting suggests that it is not like every other conference in the
online casino industry.
Surely there will be many heavy hitters in the online casinos and online poker
industry in attendance and so will the decision makers for up and coming
companies. So far it seems like the meeting will be a great place for online
sites to find more online casino partners that will give the online casino
industry a definite advantage for the second half of the year 2009. Some of the
people that will be speaking at the event will be David Carrion Cirsa who is
from Spain and will be talking about his region in a speech titled ‘Latin
America Overview’. The next scheduled speaker will be the Irish man from Chexx
IOM Paul Davis who will be speaking on ‘paying your winners’. The opening
remarks for the whole conference will be made by an American from Clarion
Gaming, Dawn Kirkwood, and the closing remarks will be made by Steven Lipscomb
from WPT Enterprises.
This meeting will be highly reported by the online casino industry. The
Executive Producer from Poker Media Ltd Tamas Nador said: "Attending and
participating at the WPC has become a vital part of our business to keep on
track with the international community as well as meeting the key players in the
poker world. The WPC has a unique and intimate possibility to network with right
people to do good business." To which Robin LeProvost from LeProvost Consultancy
added, "Whilst these specialty events might lack raw numbers at least everyone
there is relevant, quality over quantity will always win through." And then a
representative from Pokerevent.se, Christer Larsson said, "It's really
interesting to meet collegues from all around the globe, I believe all
continents were represented. That gives you perspective." So this will surely be
an event to remember for online casinos everywhere.
