Risky Advertisement? : 2

There have been a number of online casinos that have been under the scrutiny of the Advertising Standards Authority in the recent weeks. The reason why they are under fire is because people are claiming that the online casino advertisers are way too scandalous for TV and have no regard towards the impressionable youth that could be watching the commercials on TV. One online casino in particular was banned because one person complained that their use of a fairground in their commercial was way too appealing for young children. That online casino was Tombola Bingo. This whole thing arose after the heads of advertising at Tombola Bingo had run their commercial by the government authorities who ultimately gave the commercial a thumbs up.

Apparently that is not the only thing that matters. The Advertising Standards Authority has the ultimate say in what commercial stays on the air and which one does not. They decided to pull the Tombola Bingo commercial off the air due to that one complaint received. The question seems to be whether or not we are over protecting our children. Should children not know that online casinos exist? Is the fact that the online casino and their commercials seem to have a sense of humor really wrong? This surely is a debate that will go on for a long time but as long as online casinos are able to advertise on TV there are surely going to be some critics that can not wait to get it taken off the air.
