Paynova Operating in China
In early 2005, China began negotiations with the Swedish program called Paynova.
It was not until 2008 that the company made any progress with the Chinese
government and its banking system. In recent news it seems like the payment
process will be available for Chinese residents to trade and sell with Western
developers through virtual goods and other micro transactions. Paynova is like
many online casino financial transaction websites and it was founded in 2000.
The company was originally founded in Stockholm, Sweden. Among their services
they offer their products to all sorts of industries like the retail, travel,
mobile payments and online casinos. Some of the countries that they operate in
are the Netherlands, Germany, France, Scandinavia, and Asia.
The newest transaction to be made by the transaction company Paynova is the
latest in the Chinese operations. The service that Paynova is now able to
provide to the residents of China are going to be very profitable for the
company. Their services are compatible with over 940 million customers debit and
credit cards. This will give them a leg up over the competition that does not
have the capability of using debit and credit cards for their payment services.
Although the online casino industry may not benefit from the Chinese deal
immediately, if legalization of online casinos is permitted in the future this
will be a great service for players to use since over 97% of online banking
methods are accepted with Paynova.
The program automatically converts currency for the person who is making the
transaction. For example it can convert RMB payments into EUR, USD or GBP
instantly if the Chinese resident is using a Western vendor. Karl Albers, the
head of Paynova’s operations in China said, "A publisher or developer can
perfectly well use Paynova to sell virtual currency and virtual goods to Chinese
citizens. Government policy, restrictions and laws have changed the past years
and are expected to keep changing in the future. We think it's a good idea to
enter the market and gain experience and evolve with it." It will take
government policy to change for the online casino industry to operate in the
country, but they remain hopeful with the progress that has been seen.
