Online Casinos Operate in the Phillipines?

Online casinos are not able to operate in the Philippines, or so we thought. There was a recent development in the Philippines Cagayan province that can apparently operate an online casino freely due to a jurisdiction of the Cagayan Export Zone. According to that law the online casino operators have every right to operate their own tourism related activity which does include online casinos and the activities that come under that umbrella. Currently the only place in Cagayan that is legally allowed to run and host online casino like activities is Port Irene. The businesses that establish themselves in Port Irene will be able to run their online casino from there and also be able to license off shore companies that want to partake in the online casino industry.

A report that was recently released from Manila did state pretty clearly that all online gambling and online casino related activities were banned from that area. There a lot of citizens that do no want online gambling of any sort to be legal, but those kind of people are everywhere. A representative of the Alliance for Rural Concerns Party, Narciso Santiago, has proposed a very complex bill that would basically make all online casino operation illegal in the area. The bill that Santiago has proposed includes things that would make it illegal for an online operator to be able to use the internet for making a wager of any sort, it is not limited to online casinos. This bill would make it illegal of any service to be able to provide the means of making a wager online.
