Florida to Change Gambling Laws: 1
The United States has seen a drastic rise in the popularity of online casinos
and internet gambling. This is probably due to the fact that besides playing the
lottery and making the trip to a land based casino, there are not really many
gambling options to be had. Currently the only ways to gamble are if you make
the trek to a land based casino, bet on a sports game with a buddy, or even
playing a game of blackjack from your personal computer at home. The state of
Florida may be changing its current legislature on the minimum age that is
required to gamble legally in their state. At the moment, Florida law states
that an 18 year old can wager on greyhound races, play poker and bet on a horse
race. No where in those laws does it say the minimum age to play at an online
casino.
There is a restriction that is put on Class III games which prohibits people in
the state of Florida that are under 21 years of age to play at any blackjack,
baccarat, or slot machine. The newest proposal will lower the minimum age for
all gambling in the state of Florida to the age of 18. This is great news for
the casinos locates in the Seminole, Florida resort area. This means that people
can step out of the online casino and some and play the full games at their land
based casino. Games like no limit poker, craps, and roulette will be some of the
extensions that will be made by the land based casinos as soon as the state of
Florida officially changes that legislature. This will mean big business for
everyone involved. Racetracks in south Florida will even be able to set up black
jack tables at their race tracks under the new terms of legislation.
