Bwin Goes Racing: 1

It looks like the online gambling world has not last any sporting industry out of the loop. The newest industry to be trapped by the online casino industry is the racing industry. The Austrian company Bwin has been a publicly traded company on the Austrian stock exchange since the year 2000. Bwin Interactive Entertainment has recently been named a key sponsor for the Brawn GP, F1 racing team. Not unlike many online casinos Bwin was founded in 1999 by Manfred Bodner who had most of his online casino experience in the United States. One casino executive that was a regular in the Austrian national gaming business association, Norbert Teufelberger, joined him on his endeavor of tackling everything that had to do with the business side of online casinos.

Hannes Androsch is currently the company’s chairman and before he was a part of the online casino’s team he was the Minister of Finance for Austria from 1970 to 1981. But that is not the only qualification that he have to join the family of Bwin, he was also the Vice-Chancellor of the Republic of Austria from 1976 to 1981 and he also was employed by the International Monetary Fund and the OECD in which he held senior positions. Online casinos and online gambling have been very problematic for many countries and their governments. Some other countries have taken a completely different approach to the whole idea of internet gambling and found ways to make it work, such as regulating and licensing the online casino industry.
