US Online Casino Progress: 2

The United States has a different set of priorities but the online casino industry is holding on to the hope that they will be useful in the very near future. The online casino industry knows that they can help provide some much needed tax revenue for the United States and that is why they know it is just a matter of time before the United States comes around and legalized internet gambling and online casinos. The legislation that was put forth by Representative Barney Frank was put on hold because there are more important issues that the Committee has to deal with. As far as we know as predicted by the Poker Players Alliance, the Bill written by Barney Frank will have to wait at the very earliest which would be September. There is really no chance that anything will be taken care of before then.

That is not very good news for online casinos who have been preparing to re enter the United States market. The online casino industry has distanced itself from the US market but there has been a definite increase in online casinos that are accepting US players, and that is no accident. If those online casinos already have a US client base, the transition to fully legalized online casino play will be smooth. There have been a lot of big online casino companies that have settled their cases with the United States government and have agreed not to service the US with their business until that day comes. Representative Barney Frank has received so much more support for this time around battling the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
