Big Changes for Will Hill: 2
Will Hill recently announce that they will have a five year contract with the
online casino software developer Playtech plc. The transaction was completed and
the changes will take into effect slowly but surely. Playtech will ad greater
quality to the software that already exists at the Will Hill online casinos
which will in turn keep the customer base that they already have. The Will Hill
sports betting platform, Orbis, will remain unaffected by the coming together of
these two companies. William Hill plc will continue to run and operate the
William Hill Online casino. Play tech on the other hand acquired a couple of
other businesses because of the recent deal that total to about $250 million for
signing on the dotted line.
William Hill now owns 71 percent of the Playtech purchased assets and Playtech
will keep their 29 percent interest of the Will Hill Online casino. The deal
signed by the two online casino giants promises that Playtecch’s share in Will
Hill can increase to 32 percent if all of their requirements are met. The same
is true of William Hill, they will be able to purchase Playtech’s shares at a
fair market value after six years of the partnership. Playtech also will receive
a portion of the proceeds that do not exceed 10 percent of the William Hill
outstanding share capital. The two online casinos will be focused on growing
their revenue in 2009 and they will continue to grow and improve their margins
through 2010.
The merging of these two online casino companies was estimated to cost a lot of
money, but the final count of the integration and transaction totaled to GBP 24
million. The newly appointed Chief Executive officer of William Hill plc, Henry
Birch was the precious CEO of Leisure & Gaming plc. Since his appointment in
October of 2008 Birch has made great strides in taking the Will Hill online
casinos to the next step. He will not be alone in this endeavor; he will be
relying heavily on the knowledge of Eyal Sanoff who is the Chief Marketing
Officer and Peter Marcus who will be serving as the Chief Operating Officer.
Information for investors of the company will be available at the Playtech
website on January 22, 2009.
