Full Tilt Lawsuit Update
Full Tilt Poker’s online casino did not start the year off on a great note. They
began the year in a legal battle with Clonie Gowen, who is a woman poker ace who
sued the website in late 2008. The latest update on the lawsuit is that Full
Tilt is seeking a twelve page motion for dismissal of the action. The online
casino’s legal team was the one to file the final motions in order to try to
dismiss the case against them brought up by the poker ace. Gowen sued the online
casino for a ‘breach of contract’ and a ‘breach of good faith’. This all came
after she was dropped as one of the website’s resident professional poker stars.
The original lawsuit was for the amount of $40 million.
Online casinos often have found themselves in these situations, mostly due to
the fact that they have such a large amount of money that goes in and out of
their websites each and every day. She was not only trying to take down the
online casino, but she named several huge names in the lawsuit besides Full
Tilt. Pocket Kings Ltd., Kolyman Corporation, A.V.V., and Tiltware LLC were
involved in the lawsuit all of the sudden. It does not come as a surprise that
the legal team that is representing the online casino is requesting a dismissal
as in cases like this; it is a very common thing to happen. They also want the
plaintiff to take her claims and redefine them or the case should be dropped
immediately from the court system.
