I Spy in Britain
If you are currently living in the United Kingdom and play at online casinos,
this following story will affect you. According to Joseph Farah, the founder of
WorldNet Daily, claimed in a recent article of his newsletter G2 that the
British intelligence agency, MI5 is gathering up their best men in order to stop
terrorists from using the internet, particularly online casinos, to launder
money. The team of agents will be specifically trained to spy on the online
casino that they are assigned to by spotting suspicious suspects and prevent
them from laundering illegal money that will hurt them in the long run. He says
that all of the spies have recently undergone crash courses in the matter.
Terrorism still remains a big concern for the people of the United States and
the United Kingdom. The fact that the online casino realm is so accessible is
great, but on that same token it can be a scary thing. There over 3000 online
casinos where players can make bets twenty four hours a day. This means that
millions of British pounds, Euros, and dollars go through each and every online
casino every day. According to Farah, the general public would probably be
surprised at how much of the money that goes through their online casinos gets
diverted into training and recruiting terrorists. The author of this article did
not give out his sources but made claims that are definitely worth hearing.
He has said that online casinos have been affected by this all over the world,
not just in the United Kingdom. "Some of the largest bets have been traced to
British gamblers using sites operating as far afield as the Netherlands, Los
Angeles, Tokyo and Hong Kong. The follow-the-money trail has led the MI5
officers to banks in the Middle East and Pakistan," said Farah, without naming
his sources. He later added of the terrorists intelligence, "It has been
designed by some of al-Qaida's best computer experts and allows money launderers
to place their bets at far less risk of interception by MI5 or other
intelligence services." The point is that the British government is doing what
it can to stop the online casino industry from being a venue in which terrorists
can make transactions legally.
