Vietnam Cracks Down: 2

The Vietnamese government is looking to take down all of the people that have blatantly disobeyed their anti internet gambling laws. The investigation from the Ministry of Public Security for Vietnam was launched after they learned exactly how much money was being collected from gamblers in certain parts of their country. As far as the laptop online casino players are concerned, they are not at the top of the Vietnamese Authority’s list. They are more interested in bringing the people who are responsible for running or operating these illegal online casinos to justice. Although charges will be pressed against the individuals who are convicted for running illegal online casinos, only the ones that have a revenue of over one million Vietnamese dollars will see jail time. The rest of the operators will face several fines upon conviction.

This does not mean the people who are illegally playing at the online casinos from their laptops are safe. An official from the Vietnamese Bar Association said that players could face charges if they placed a total of one million Vietnamese dollars or $57 United States dollars in their time playing. Some of the online casino operators have already been accused of not giving accurate payouts to the Vietnamese players knowing that they cannot do anything due to their illegal playing. Three were even accusations of the operators rigging the games so then the house won during high stakes games. So as it stands right now Vietnam may not be ready to move towards online casino legalization, they have their hands full trying to catch these perpetrators.
