Japan May Welcome Online Casinos: 1

Japan may have many things but land based and online casinos are not one of them. Japan’s government has banned many forms of gambling in their country. The lottery and betting on horse racing is considered legal, but those aspects of the gambling industry do not generate as much revenue as an online casino would, so the government does not really interfere with those gambling outlets. As we know in the internet gambling industry, Asia is a growing market for online casinos and is responsible for millions of dollars in yearly revenue from players placing their bets from the privacy of their own home or from a cyber café. It was only a matter of time before online casino operators and developers began to look at Japan as a land for business growth and opportunity.

To be able to open up an online casino in Japan would be an operator’s dream. Japan has the highest gross domestic product in all of Asia, it is even higher than the United States’. Japan also has a huge population of people that has reached all the way to the 128 million mark. With that number alone it is no wonder that entrepreneurs would want to open up their online casinos in the highly populated country. They have recently had a change of parties that is now ruling their country, similar to that of the United States. The Liberal Democratic Party has apparently recently started conversations with some of the online casinos that could potentially operate in Japan. Japanese government officials are sure that their country would be very successful for the internet gambling industry.
