A user’s Internet Procol (IP) address may change depending on their internet provider and the type of internet access that a user has. The way that a person can keep their IP address number is if they keep their internet access provider and always connect through that service. The IP address has been described to be just like someone’s telephone number, the only difference is that there is no public telephone book for your IP address. The IP address is a very accurate tool that can target exactly where the computer that it is assigned to is. Internet service providers are given IP address numbers in blocks, those numbers are then assigned to the users. The way to identify where an IP address is from is from the first digits, which tell you what country it is from. It still does not tell you who the user is, so if you are trying to access an online casino, they have no idea who you are they just know where you are from.

Just like anything on the internet there are ways to get through it or find a loop hole. Geoblocking is a way for certain regions to be denied access to websites like online casinos or other legally troublesome websites. The way that someone wanting to access an illegal online casino would be to obtain internet access from a country in which it is legal. Good luck with that though, it is difficult enough to get good internet service from the country that you are in. If a player is able to obtain an IP address from a country that can access a geoblocked website then they will be able to access the site with no problem. The other loophole may lie in mobile phones that can access the internet. There is no way to apply the software to those devices. This may be why the online casino industry is booming with their mobile online casinos.
