Second Annual Responsible Gaming Day: 1

Last year the European Gaming and Betting Association organized a new tradition for the online casino industry, Responsible Gaming Day. The official date for the responsible Gaming Day is Februaby 17th and there was a conference held in its honor in Brussels to commemorate the anniversary of the date. This important event was meant to bring together some of the industry’s top public and privates sector stakeholders from the gambling industry. The top issues in the conference that was held at the European Parliament were sports and integrity though online casinos were also heavily discussed. The main focus was, however, on the fraudulent activity, corruption and bookmaker ethics which have been problematic for the internet gambling industry in the past year.

The European Gaming and Betting Association invited many groups to the conference such as online operators, political representatives, business people and academics were all present at the responsible online casino play event. Ethics were definitely on the discussion board and people did not shy away from giving their opinion on how the industry has evolved with questionable ethics. The biggest concern that arose from the conference was the safety of the online player. No matter what kind of website that the player goes on to whether it is an online casino or a sports betting site, players need to feel safe. They need to feel like they can trust the person on the other side of the screen with their hard earned money. So the delegates at the conference expressed their concerns and suggested ways to go about it better.
