Will Hill Takes New Bets

William Hill’s online casino has made a splash in the online casino blog circles by starting speculation on whether or not the Obama administration will act quickly on the legalization of online casinos in the United States. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 was made by the Bush administration and made it illegal for transactions to be made from a United States citizen to a website registered as an online casino. Since the day the act was passed it has been the topic of conversation of the online casino industry and those who criticize it. The decisions of the United States government were made in order to keep online casino addicts from playing, but these decisions may have further repercussions than once thought.

The online casino industry just wants a logical decision made by the United States government once and for all. The details would definitely take time to finalize, so there is an understanding that nothing will happen over night. Online casinos will also have to make some drastic changes to meet the standards of a prospective new market in the United States. This would mean that some online casinos would have to clean up their act. Those that have been accused of such things as money laundering and cheating scandals will have to understand that they will have to be transparent and fair in their business in order to reap the benefits of the United State’s market. It seems like all bets on whether or not the Obama administration will act in favor of the online casino industry are 50/50.
