A professor from the Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California in the United States, Professor I Nelson Rose teaches gambling law, he recently asked his students what the legal age is to gamble online. The then went on to elaborate that seven other government agencies were asking the same question. So why do people not know what the legal age is to play at an online casino? If anyone should know the answer to that question it should be the government officials that posted the question to begin with such as prosecutors, police officers and regulators. The people who are most concerned with the age laws for online casinos seem to be the young players who are wondering how to legally claim their winnings without any repercussions.

The answer to this question should be a very straight forward and easy one to come by. We thought that we could just look it up on the internet and get a simple answer on what the legal age is to play at an online casino. Apparently the answer is rather fuzzy. The theory is that lawmakers have not paid enough attention to online casino and their laws to come up with a legal age for a minimum requirement. This is not saying that there are not any guidelines for online casinos to follow. As it stands most of the responsibility falls on the operator of each individual online casino. Countries which have online casino licensees do have a minimum age requirement for players to be at least 18 to 21 years of age to participate in any form of internet gambling.
