PayPal Comeback
Right now there is a lot of talk around the online casinos of the world and it
seems like all signs are pointing towards PayPal. With the movements in the
United States legislation, as been presented by Representative Barney Frank,
picking up strength there have been a number of companied re assessing their
stance on the online casino world. The latest news on the Rep. Frank bill is
that there are more people signing on as co sponsors and that only means that it
will be harder for others to stop the bill from passing. The bill would make it
possible for online casinos to become legalized and regulated in the United
States. One of the companies that is set to make their move towards the online
casino industry is the payment processing company, PayPal.
When the United States passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act,
the payment processing company stopped taking all of their transactions that
were related to online gambling. The reason why they stopped was due to the laws
in the United States. However, they have recently begun to take online casino
transactions in the United Kingdom and that has lead to a lot of speculation as
to whether or not they are trying to prepare themselves for a return of the
online casino industry in the United States. They are not alone in this matter,
many companies have already begun to prepare for the possible change in United
States legislation which would allow online casino operation legally. One online
casino player, Manny Lopez said, "Many of these companies understand the amount
of support Rep. Frank is receiving and what it could mean to their bottom line
in the future at the same time, they have to be careful they do not do anything
that will upset the US government before those changes are made."
One of the online casinos that hopes to return to the United States is
PartyGaming. Hopefully the 54 co sponsors that Representative Frank has on his
proposed legislation will make some big changes in the United States and the
online casino industry. As of this moment all of Frank’s supporters are from
both sides of the political spectrum.
