More Support for Frank: 1
Internet gamblers in the United States have already endured a lot to be able to
play in their country. The players of online casinos have been waiting for a
long time for some changes to finally occur, or for any clue that the government
even cares about what they are saying. The only hope for these online casinos
has been Representative Barney Frank who has been the savior for the online
casino players of the Untied States. Rep. Barney Frank currently has a bill that
suggests a plan to legalize and regulate online casinos and internet gambling in
the United States. This bill is finally getting the support that it deserves.
The latest on the bill is that five more representatives have signed on as
supporters and sponsors of the online casino bill. That would bring the total of
sponsors for the online casino bill to 47, which is head and shoulders above the
amount of support they received last time Frank proposed online casino
legalization.
The bill that is currently being presented by Rep. Barney Frank is titled H.R.
2267 Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act.
This new bill was introduced by Rep. Barney Frank in May in an attempt to
overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that was put into place
in 2006. The bill that is being proposed by Barney Frank would make online
casinos and internet gambling legal in the United States but the plan he has
also includes a tax system. The tax revenue that could be generated by
legalizing the online casino industry in the United States is estimated to be
worth billions. The five new representatives that joined the co-sponsorship of
Barney Frank’s bill are: Reps. Frank A. LoBiondo and John H. Hadler from New
Jersey, Rep. Joe Courtney from Connecticut, and Reps. Walter Minnick and Paul D.
Tonko from New York.
