Currently there are tribal casino operators that are looking for a way to make intrastate online poker legal in California. The tribal casino operators are so adamant that they are even willing to work with their long time enemies in the state poker rooms in order to lobby for their common goal. The goal for these two organizations is for them to team up and lobby for the bill which would regulate and legalize online poker rooms. The online casino industry considers online poker as one of its most important branches. The bill that is currently going to Capitol Hill in California will be proposing the legalization and regulation of interstate online poker. The two normally feuding organizations are taking each other’s sides and are working together to hopefully form a stronger case towards online casinos and internet poker rooms in the State of California.

Some of the tribes in the union are not as excited about the online poker room movement because they feel that it violates the Federal laws against online casino gambling. If the state decides against the online poker some tribes feel like their reservation land will be put in question and endangered as their gambling status is in the hands of the government of California. One tribe, the Morongo tribe is leading the fight towards the united online casino and poker rooms. The Morongo tribe is one of the richest tribes in the United States. One of the attorneys for the Morongo tribe, George Forman, said to a California newspaper, "You've got a huge amount of gambling going on the Internet right now that is a large measure unregulated. I think it is fair to say there is an interest on some people's part that this activity can and should be regulated to protect consumers and produce a revenue source for the states."
