Through Poll, America Voices their Approval for Online Casinos
Whenever considering safety of personal information on the internet, one can
never be too careful. Logically, this philosophy should always be adopted by
anyone participating in online casino games. Online gambling supporters feel
that if the online gambling site is properly regulated, then there should be no
worrying of any kind of cheating scandals. There has been a history of cheating
scandals at online casino sites such as Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, but
these are considered rare cases.
To examine the true nature of how American’s feel about online gambling, a poll
was randomly sent to 5,000 citizens. Andre Curtis, a famous Las Vegas authority
and the creator LasVegasAdvisor.com, posted the results of the pole on his
website. The main objective of the poll was to see how people felt about the
legalization of online casinos. It should be noted that the questions did not
result in merely yes or no answers, but they allowed pollsters to elaborate on
their opinions with short answers.
The results of the poll show that 68% of Americans feel it is their right to
participate in online gambling. People who feel that online casinos should not
be legalized were classified into two different camps. The first set,
approximately 15% of people feel that online gambling encourages minors to bet
and promotes gambling addictions. The second and final set of people say that
there should be legalization because they do not trust the industry and feel
that online casinos can not be appropriately policed.
Of the 68% of pro online casino users, 18% said that they gamble now even with
the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). 27% of
these pollsters said that they do not participate in online casinos, but they
feel it is a person right to, if they so choose. The final 23% of poll
participants replied that if the industry was regulated, then they would play a
part.
