Wikileaks Black Lists
The world is moving faster than ever and technology advances and trends such as
Twitter are only making the world a little smaller. There was a Twitter update
recently that was published by Wikileaks that there were police raids in
Australian homes. We previously reported on the Australian government making
bans on certain domains and among those were a lot of online casino domains. The
one particular web domain that is in question is the Wikileaks.de which is
registered under a German domain. The reason why this particular website is in
trouble is because they published a list of the banned websites which had some
online casinos.
The website Wikileaks is a pretty cool website actually, they offer an anonymous
service to the people who subscribe to it. This is not the first time that they
have published lists of banned websites, they have previously listed the
websites of Thailand, Australia and Denmark. The Wikileaks website is not quite
sure what exactly initiated the raids from the government, some of the signs
have pointed towards complaints received by the people of Australia. The website
is still standing by their decision to post the lists and they published three
of the lists that they had which they claim were the Australian Communications
and Media Authority’s secret list of banned websites. The black listing of web
domains has been a hot topic in the world of the online casino industry and any
other internet gambling website as well. None of the online casinos that have
given their opinion in the matter want to be included on that list.
No matter what the online casino industry thinks, the spokesperson for Wikileaks
revealed a possibility for why their website was raided. They said, "The raid is
over the censorship lists, but which particular list, we can not be certain,
although the Australian lists are the most recent and the most prominent due to
their non-voluntary status." There were some online casinos that were allegedly
on that list that did not know about their black list status. There have been
several attempts to try to clear this situation up, none have yet been
successful.
