Advertising Tools: 1

Online casinos and other internet gambling websites all have advertisers featured on their websites. The way that they measure the amount of people that click on those advertisements is called a click through rate or CTR. The way that a website can evaluate their CTR is by dividing the number of times that an ad was clicked on by the times it was actually displayed on the website. Banners on top of web pages have not been doing so well lately, actually, they have been performing very poorly with less than 1 percent average click through rate. Those same numbers apply to the online casino industry and their banner ads. The banner ads on websites have performed so poorly in the last couple of years that if a banner ad has a 2 percent click through rate it is seen as a success.

The ads that have the best chances of being clicked through have been the more unusual ads, personalized ads and anything generally obtrusive. The online casino industry has used this method to track their advertising for years. The CTR is the most useful way for online casinos to calculate whether or not their advertisements are working or if they should take a different strategy. The CTR is not calculated by the amount of different people that clicked through a particular advertisement. That is a key factor in how the click through ratio is determined. There is still doubt of whether or not it matters that the same person could click on one ad 30 times and that counts every click as a separate person towards their percentage.
