The study at the Univertisy was overseen by the two professors Robert Wood and Robert Williams. Their study shows that the two countries have a high average of about 435 dollars that are spent only on online gambling. According to their study that is about five times the amount that is spent on poker machines which ewer thought to be more popular than the online casino before this study was conducted.

All of the facts that were released by the latest online casino related study have only helped the outcry for banning or regulating online casinos more than they currently are. The difference between these two countries and the other ones that do not have as high of an amount of online gambling is the fact that the availability of credit for gambling purposes is not as easily accessible. The study also revealed some interesting facts about gambling addiction. People who gamble at an online casino are four times more likely to develop a gambling addiction than those people who gamble at land based casinos or other traditional methods of gambling.

The head of the study, Professor Wood said, "Australian Internet gamblers do report higher average monthly gambling spending than the overall average we observed among our sample. This would suggest that Australian Internet gamblers do spend more on gambling compared with Internet gamblers from most other countries." The online casino study interviewed over 20,000 people in over 105 different countries.
