Gambling Affiliate Program Meeting
During the month of March the Gambling Affiliate Program introduced the newest
edition of their community organization and affiliates. They recently held their
inaugural meeting that they will very appropriately called the Annual General
Meeting which was held on Sunday March 29th. This particular even coincided with
the Casino Affiliate Convention 2009 which was shortly after the Annual General
Meeting. The meeting was held at the famous NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel in
Amsterdam. This meeting was considered to be a very high priority to attend by
the over eighty programs that registered for the event and actually attended to
discuss the problems of the online casino industry and some of the requirements
that need to be set in the world of online casinos.
The operators from this event saw a need for events such as this one because of
all of the instability shown by the Casino Affiliate Programs. The reason why
this even needed to be called was to get the heads of the online casino industry
on the same page before some of the more pressing conventions. There is a need
for the online casino industry to become more unified and take a common stance.
There were people in attendance that definitely had their own agendas but over
all the major topics were able to be discussed thoroughly. There was a general
consensus reached on affiliate communities, conferences, issues, events and
certification of online casinos.
The Affiliate Director of the online casino event, Shaun O’Neil released some
statements regarding the internet gambling event before the event took place. He
said: "Unfortunately, we believe it is questionable to think that CAP and PAP
will be able to operate effectively without a management team that has proven
integrity, and until this rift is dealt with and all the facts are known.
Perhaps what the industry needs is an independent non-profit organization
providing certification and related services, along the lines that Microgaming
spearheaded with Ecogra for Operations Certification, i.e. an organization
funded by the operators with common pricing and clear rules and a code of
conduct. We would certainly be interested in participating or being in the
forefront of such an initiative."
