Antigua in Trouble: 1

There is an exclusive list that has become a right of bragging for certain online casinos in the United Kingdom. The online casino and online gambling websites that have managed to get on this ‘white list’ for advertising have definitely recently breathed a sigh of relief. Some of those online casinos were those of Antigua and the internet gambling websites that happen to fall under that jurisdiction. The reason why they should be breathing a sigh of relief is that there is a scandal that recently broke out involving a billionaire named Allen Stanford. That scandal may affect the good standing that the online casino industry had with the island because the billionaire technically did dominate a huge chunk of the internet gambling industry on the little island.

Stanford was not only a huge part of the online casino industry in the island of Antigua, but they also played a huge part in the general economy of the island. He even had his own bank that was appropriately named, Stanford Bank. The allegations that have arose against the billionaire were raised by the United States Department of Justice which alleged that Stanford was running a multi billion dollar pyramid. But that is not all… the Stanford International Bank, which was owned by the billionaire, was accused of selling phony deposit certificates. So this leads the United Kingdom to express concern over whether or not they should allow the online casinos from Antigua who are so deep into scandal to advertise in the United Kingdom.
