Mansion to Relocate?
Mansion, the popular online casino, is rumored to be moving from its home in
Gibraltar. To fight back those rumors, a publication in Gibraltar called
“Panorama” released a statement that said that the very popular online casino is
indeed not moving, they have merely made some staffing cutbacks. The rumors said
that Mansion would be moving to Israel or Singapore. Either place would be a
great home for online casinos, but rest assured people of Gibraltar. They are
not going anywhere. Mansion employs somewhere around 150 people of Gibraltar.
This is all good news for those people employed by Mansion as well as for the
company itself.
Gibraltar is a territory of the United Kingdom and it has very strict
regulations that are known very well and respected in the online casino world.
Gibraltar is one of the few places that has a credible operation that is listed
on the UK Gambling Commission's white list, which means that they are an
approved licensed jurisdiction. Not every online casino has this kind of
reputation. The rumors that they would be moving to Singapore would not
necessarily be considered that far fetched. Mansion's business comes largely
from Asian populations. Singapore would also offer a tax rate that is a low 8%,
which is extremely low for an online casino company.
Israel was the other option that was being tossed around in the rumor mill as a
possible place of relocation for the Gibraltar based online casino. Israel is a
slightly less than desirable spot for online casinos. They have not had the best
attitude towards online casinos, Bwin, for example. The country does have
influential software development companies that are tied to it. We still don't
think that it would be the best choice for a great online casino such as Mansion
to call home.
