Kentucky Case Against Golden Casino:2
Several organizations that are pro online casinos and internet gambling have
filed motions to dismiss the case, those organizations are: Poker Players
Alliance (PPA), Interactive Gaming Commission (IGC), and Interactive Media
Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA). Even the backing of these powerful
organizations cannot guarantee the standing of this case. The owners of each
domain would have to be named in order for the case to have legal standing.
We still have not heard a peep from the defendants. Judge Wingate, the judge
presiding over this online casino case, is adamant and positive that the defense
will “eventually pony up”. The online casinos in question will not be shut down
if they follow all of the demands that the state has presented. The state wants
them to give a list of the domain owners and receive the financial compensation.
They were recently said to be in negotiations. The online casino wants all of
their users and account holders to know that all of their money is protected and
that they are doing their best to resolve this issue.
If the online casino ring cooperates with the state government it would mean
that the domain would be kept, but changes would have to be made. Golden Casino
and all of the other domains in question would have to operate under the letter
of the law. Especially after this case is concluded, no matter what the outcome,
they will surely be under the close watch of the government. Hopefully, for all
online casinos this will set a positive example by getting the word out about
how much revenue could be generated for the government if it were legalized in
the United States. Presently, online casinos are not legal to use for American
citizens.
