Gaming Commission Scandal
A statement released by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission reported that the
investigation involving the Tokwiro Enterprises' Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet
online casino and poker rooms has come to an end. The investigation on this
cheating scandal was headed up by former New Jersey Commissioner, Frank Catania.
This investigation was not only good for the law enforcement involved, but also
the frequent poker players at online casinos. After all, this scandal is about
cheating the very players that keep their casinos running.
When the scandals broke out, online casino players wanted names of the people
that not only cheated them of their money but took advantage of them completely.
This particular case cost people over $60 million in fraudulent poker playing in
only 36 months! When the public demanded to know the identity of the individual
responsible for these acts, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission would only disclose
that is was a “former employee”.
Well, won't you be surprised to hear who the mastermind behind this $60 million
scam is? It is none other than Russ Hamilton, the World Series of Poker
Champion. Frank Catania named him as the “chief perpetrator” as he was the
former owner of Ultimate Bet, the online casino. The former commissioner admits
that Hamilton was not the only one involved but that he knew of the costly
deception taking place. Online casinos operate and thrive on repeat users. I
think it is safe to say that none of Hamilton's casinos will do too well in the
future seeing as how the man was already a millionaire and he chose to steal
millions more. Criminal prosecution may be in his near future.
