Veterinarian is new CEO
Norway’s biggest online casino just got a new CEO. Norske Tipping AS’s new Chief
Executive Officer has a slightly different background than that of the
conventional online casinos CEO’s. An announcement recently released by the
online casino stated that the former veterinary hospital administrator Torbjorn
Almlid would be taking over the position of CEO for Norway’s gambling monopoly.
Almlid is taking the reigns from the current acting CEO Axel Krogvig who took
over the responsibilities when Reidar Nordby left the post in the later parts of
last year. The search for a new leader of this company was a long and hard one
but the people over at Norske Tipping AS seem excited about the new man in
charge.
Amlid is a very interesting choice for Chief Executive Officer for an online
casino. He is a veterinarian who has been working mostly in the field of
research for the larger part of his career. As if that was not impressive enough
he has a doctoral degree in genetics and is currently the director at the
Innlandet Hospital Trust. How does that qualify him to be CEO of an online
casino? We are getting to that… He ahs executive experience from his 10 year
stay as CEO of Norsvin and his experience as a managing director at BioInn. In
1999 he gave the hospital care industry a whirl and was the executive director
at the Feast Clinic AS. In 2003 he became vice president of Health East and
joined the Innlandet Hospital Trust. He is set to take the reigns over at Norske
Tipping first thing on January 1, 2009.
The folks over at Innlandet Hospital Trust are very sad to see their leader
leave them but are happy that he ahs been given this opportunity. Amlid is
confident that he will be a great addition to the online casino staff. He will
be a thoughtful leader keeping in mind the social responsibility that online
casinos must have as well as their monetary responsibility. He already has the
stamp of approval from the chairman of Norsk Tipping’s board, Sigbjorn Johnsen
said, “He is an excellent leader and has the ability to create space for
development and growth within the framework in which the company operates.” We
here at casino scrutiny wish the new CEO the best of luck in 2009.
