GameAccount Reports Record Numbers
Not every online casino is being affected by the recession. With recent reports
of companies world wide making cut backs in order to weather the recession
storm; it is refreshing to hear of companies that are not cutting back on jobs.
The online casino company based out of the United Kingdom, GameAccount, has
recently reported significantly larger numbers this quarter. The press has even
gone as far as to say that the company seems to be “recession proof”. We do not
want to jinx the skill game provider and network operator, but online casinos
everywhere seem to be posting record numbers. Could it be that people are taking
the little money that they do have to online casinos in hopes of winning big?
Whatever the reason, the online casino provider is posting some pretty
impressive figures. In 2008 the online casinos that are run by GameAccount have
received GBP 120 million. This is a significant jump from what the website
reported for last years numbers at this same time of the year which was GBP
110.5 million. Who knows what is going to happen in this bizarre global economy?
Most online casinos are reporting record numbers while others are merging
divisions and cutting jobs. Only time will tell how the long term affects of the
recession will affect the online casino markets. For now, it seems like this is
a very good time for those who are invested or own online gambling websites.
People all over the world are staying home and trying to get Lady Luck on their
side. GameAccount’s own Chief Operating Officer, Dermot Smurfit said, “People
are staying at home, not just because it's getting colder, but to save money,
too. As markets all over the world are melting, we’re pleased that more and more
people are turning to the Internet and skill gaming for their entertainment.”
