Microgaming Draws the Line
It is official: as of November 10, 2008 there will be no registrations of
players from the United States at any Microgaming licensed websites. Not only
will it not allow registration for online casinos that offer real money playing,
but also the online casino progressive slot flash games. This is a big upset for
United States residents who love to play at online casinos, but it is something
that the websites had to do in order to stay in good standing with the online
gambling boards. This huge announcement was released to Microgaming marketing
affiliates, the Brightshare program, and is supposedly going to be taking into
effect immediately.
The Brightshare program handles the marketing of many well known online casinos
such as the Jackpot Factory. They intend to set the example and not allow
anymore players from the United States register at their online casino anymore.
The people over at Brightshare sent out an email to all of their customers and
share holders which included a list of all of the games blocked for US players.
They have not yet sent out emails to the United States players but have posted
warnings of the upcoming changes in every online casino they have.
Other companies that own online casinos are preparing the emails that will be
sent to their users that will announce their ban of US customers and players.
The Grand Prive group is one of those online casino groups that has every intent
on removing all US players by their own deadline of December 1st. This should
not affect players from the United States if they are only playing at online
casinos that have the “just for fun” games. The trial versions are about as far
as players from the United States are going to get unless the US over turns
their laws against online gambling, which is not likely a top priority in the
American legislature.
