Gary Kaplan’s Legal Woes Continue: 1

This year will probably not go down as Gary Kaplan, the founder of BetonSports, finest. Kaplan has spent the last 18 months stuck in prison due to charges his liquidated online casino, BetonSports. The online casino has been under fire for their shady activities for a long time before his incarceration. The United State’s Department of Justice is investigating the case of Mr. Kaplan and his former Chief Executive Officer David Carruthers. They have not yet set foot in a courtroom for the crimes that they have been accused of but that day will be coming very soon. According to a report in the St. Louis Despatch newspaper, Kaplan and his defense team have used these 18 months to build a pretty strong defense for their client.

During Kaplan’s stay at the St. Louis County jail, there has been a bit of controversy surrounding him. There has been some alleged special treatment and he has miraculously been able to smuggle in contraband, so he was then transferred to the St. Charles county jail. This was supposed to straighten him out so the court may be more lenient due to good behavior. According to a recently released newspaper article, the former online casino owner has had trouble following him no matter where he goes. As many of you may remember, we reported his case earlier this year. Kaplan and BetonSports are no longer in operation because of the sneaky actions reported by sources close the investigation of this online casino. And here he is causing trouble at the jail that he is in for the same reasons.
