British Team Wins at PartyPoker.com Event :3
The British Team’s Neil Channing reeled in the team’s victory in the fourth and
final round of a very tough tournament. Sure, he was not the only reason why the
British team pulled in the victory at the online casino hosted tournament, but
part of the fact why his playing is being looked at as something to be reckoned
with, is because of the match up against his Irish counterpart, Donnacha O’Dea.
O’Dea was the Irish Open Champion. The tight match up was turned in the favor of
Channing when he went all in an 8 4 off suit. He then got called by O’Dea wirh a
2 2. After that, O’Dea went all in with her hand of 10c 3c. Channing challenged
her by calling with 10h 9h.
This was not Neil Channings first win for the Great Britain team. He was a part
of the online casino’s poker tournament in 2006. Channing was actually not even
supposed to compete in this event at all. He was supposed to be a reporter for
the event to be broadcasted in television. Experts, such as himself are often
asked by online casinos to cover their events and create more buzz around their
events. Channing caught the eve of the British team’s captain after he recently
won the Irish Open. This is something that Channing felt was a great honor, to
represent his country again and to be personally asked by de Wolfe to play in
the fourth round of the tournament is just the cherry on top of a very
fulfilling sundae. Channing said, “I am just as proud of this as I am of my win
in Ireland. It was an honor to be picked to represent my country and great to be
chosen to play the crucial final leg for the team.”
