60 Minutes to Air Poker Expose: 1
Claims against online casinos are as common as humidity in Florida. The popular
television news program “60 Minutes” is claiming that they will be airing an
expose on the poker industry and it is not going to be a very enthusiastic story
they will tell. According to recently published reports the folks over at “60
Minutes” have an “impeccable source” to back up some pretty bold claims against
the poker and online casino industries. During the World Series of Poker, the
camera crews captured footage of some of the players and head honchos were
interviewed for this story.
The investigation by the popular television show is supposed to be based on
uncovering some insider cheating. Allegations like this are no stranger to
online casinos or land based poker. The rumor mill has been working over time
trying to figure out the dirt that the reporters may have uncovered about the
online casino or poker industries. One of the bigger rumors is behind the online
casinos UltimateBet and Absolute Poker. The interesting thing behind those two
particular companies is the recent ‘hole card’ scandals. These claims are
preceded by the insider cheating that Russell Hamilton, the former World Series
or Poker champion. The investigation was all brought forth after his victory by
the Kahnawake Gamind Commission.
Online casinos have had their share of trouble, but the ’60 Minutes’ expose on
the poker industry could cost way more than one may think. The opinion of the
voting public needs to not be negative towards the gambling at an online casino
otherwise it may never get legalized in the United States.
