The Swiss government has recently made headlines due to an announcement made by the Swiss Justice Minister regarding the highly debated topic of online casinos and internet gambling websites. The announcement that was recently made by the Swiss Justice Minister is actually nothing but good news for the online casino industry as they announced that they will be legalizing online casino activity. All of the details still have to be taken care of by the government but the good news of the moment is that they will indeed legalize online casinos in their country. All of the progress comes as a bit of a shock, simply due to the fact that there have been so many attempts to legalize online casino activity in the past that have all failed to go through the Swiss legal system.

The new changes that will be made by the Swiss government regarding the online casino industry will mostly be regarding all of the legal issues that they have faced for so many years in the past. The online casinos that want to operate in the Swiss market will be able to apply for licenses in the region. There will be a separate application process for online casinos and poker games. They will also no longer be blocking internet gambling websites that are not based inside of the Swiss region. Those online casinos will instead have some extra regulations and rules that will be placed upon them. They will also be require to obtain a license to operate in the Swiss market.
