The Swedish government recently selected their first state opened its first state owned online casino which is causing some problems that usually come with a monopoly. The online casino is called Svenska Spel and it is an internet gambling website that is owned by the Swedish government and it has received numerous awards from the European Lotteries and Toto Associations due to the fact that they are the first online casino that has met their responsible gaming standards. That is probably why this online casino is the only internet gambling site that is allowed to operate in the whole entire country. They are currently running a state licensed monopoly in Sweden by not allowing other online casinos which means that they have all the say in how they can apply the taxes and fees that are associated with online casinos.

So far the European Lotteries have provided the online casino with the game structure, staff training, problem gaming information, advertising and marketing, and the commitment to preventing problem gambling. The goal is to create the most responsible form of online casinos and internet gambling that they can possibly make as a responsibility that they feel towards their citizens. The lottery association in Sweden has an independent auditor that measures scores and makes sure that the objectivity of the lottery stays in tact. There are ten companies that are currently being observed by that particular company those operators are in Italy, Finland, Spain, Germany and Austria. Last year, we received an award from the WLA, naming us as the world’s top gaming company in the field of responsible gambling. This EL accreditation further underpins our position."
