Galewinds Software Trouble: 3
Online casinos usually try to avoid getting third party organizations involved
when it comes to how they run their businesses. In the case of Heroes Casino
that is exactly what had to happen for their player to get the $34,000 that they
were owed. The online casino eventually told the player that had won the big
prize on their black jack game that the software that they were using at the
time was flawed and that is why the player won such a large amount. The company
that provides the software for this online casino is Galewinds. The claim that
their software was flawed was quickly refuted by other online casinos and
independent software experts in the internet gambling industry.
The president of Galewinds, Chris Colby, addressed the issue with the online
casino website, Casinomeister.com who was at the forefront of publicly
exploiting this case in order to get to the bottom of what was going on. He
wrote a paragraph for the thread that has been on going for several months
discussing the online casino and the fact that the player had yet to be paid for
a game of black jack that he rightfully won. The paragraph written by the
president of the online casino software provider was written to address the
issues regarding the allegations that their company made some sort of back door
deal with the Heroes Casino because their software was indeed defective. Other
online casinos have not come forth to complain about the software as of yet.
The president of the online casino software provider, Colby wrote: "The interim
conclusion which most concerns me is that GSC made some sort of "back room deal"
[with Heroes Casino] regarding an acknowledgement of defective software, and
that this is why GSC, rather than Heroes Casino, paid Westland Bowl [the
player].” He added: "On this point I wish to be perfectly clear: GSC did not
make any "back room deals" regarding an acknowledgement of defective software.
To borrow from a previous post, our software is not now, nor has it ever been, "snarfed".
We chose to pay Westland Bowl because Heroes Casino had not. Our analysis, and
the analysis of several others, concluded that WB won “fair and square”. Someone
needed to pay him, and we felt that we had an ultimate responsibility that
transcended the filters of any legal obligations."
