Malta Speaks French: 2

The island of Malta is a very attractive destination for online casinos because of its very attractive tax system that it has in place. When it comes to online poker the tax deductions are at less than 0.5 percent from the previous deductions that reach a very low maximum. This island is also home to a lot of online casino enterprises which bring plenty of jobs to the island’s work force the state has created 3,000 direct employment offers in the territory. So all of the people that think that the online casino industry does not bring anything of value to this country are very wrong, there is a lot of money that makes this island sustainable because of this industry. The latest in the French legislation has does not quite match that of Malta and may not exactly see eye to eye for years to come.

The government in Malta has tried to discuss furthering the online casino legislation with the French government by proposing several bills in mid June through the Council of Europe. Due to the state of the global economy the European Union may put more pressure on the government of France to take quicker steps towards full online casino industry activity in their country simply for the tax benefits of the country. As of right now the French government has plans on opening the online casino market in the year 2010 but that has not pleased the Maltese government. The chief of the Maltese Ministry of Economy, Alain Caruana said, “We will be attentive to this bill and we will probably bring our comments, there.”
