Online Casino Study Released: 1
There was a new study released by the consultant Amrco Felice Baranselli that
shows an increase in online casino usage as opposed to the land based casinos.
The study was taken on a global level and affects every online casino and land
based casino market. They are able to predict with the results of this study
that the growth of online casinos will steadily climb on a much higher average
rate than the land based casinos atleast through the year 2012. There is no
doubt about it, online casinos have grown in popularity through out the years.
Banranzelli says that the revenue gained from gambling in 2007 was US $328.5
billion which is up from the previous years numbers of $309.6 billion in 2006.
In the year 2008, a new variable was added to online casinos and online
gambling, the ability for people to purchase online lottery tickets accounted
for 4.8 percent of the total revenue. The non online casino markets are also
seeing arise in their numbers but not as significant as the ones from the
internet, they are seeing a 2.2 percent growth. The experts behind this study
predict a 10.2 percent growth for the online casino market from now until the
year 2012 and a small 2.2 percent growth for the land based casinos. They are
set to rake in a projected 24.4 billion with online casinos.
There is no doubt that the online casino market has grown rapidly over the past
couple of years despite media and legal issues. The appeal to players may be
that geographical boundaries no longer apply. They can play at online casinos
with family members anywhere in the world. The convenience of online gambling is
likely the biggest factor that keeps players coming back for more.
